Megan nodded. "How?" She asked. Why had she said how? She wonderd if his mother had died or did his mother leave him. She had no clue.

Nikolai nodded in understanding now. "I am not sure," he replied a little sympathetically. "I do not remember much before a few years ago. I am not sure why."

Megan nodded. "My mother was killed by someone." She said, as she looked away once she had finshed the setence. She didn't who because the cops never found the person yet.

"Murder?" Nikolai repeated a little surprise. Whatever could drive a person to murder? Ek looked up a little when Megan said this. He rubbed his head against her when she looked away. "I am sorry," Nikolai said in a hushed tone. He had not known.

Megan looked at Ek and petted him again. She smiled. "It's ok." Megan said.

"They will find the one who wronged," Nikolai reassured her. Ek mewed as Megan petted him, then stood rubbing all of his body across her. His purrs were so loud even Nikolai could hear them now.

"Yea. I don't know why they would want to kill my mom. She didn't do anything wrong." She said. She giggled when Ek was rubbing against her. She smiled and contuied to pet him.

Nikolai nodded. "I am sure that it is nothing you need to worry about," he assured. Ek put his paws up onto the top of her shoulder and climbed onto the top where he then began to walk around to her other shoulder.

Megan nodded. She saw Ek go on her shoulder and walked to her other shoulder. She smiled.

Ek stopped as he was on both shoulders and decided to do something different. He put his paws up on her head, pulled up, the stradled one foot over her her other shoulder. He put his head on the top of hers and almost seemd to grin.
"Ek!" Nikolai said alarmed as the cat climbed all over her.

Megan looked up to see his head on her's. She giggled. " Does your cat like doing this?" She asked. She knew cats like to rubbed against humans, paw at them sometimes and sleep in their lap. She had never seen a cat do this before.

Ek sat there perfectly happy. He had no intention of moving.
As Nikolai laughed, he was not sure if it was because of what Ek was doing or because Megan said that Ek was his cat. Neither Ek nor Tina really could be considered his in any way, they just happened to follow him around, live in the house he lived in, and annoy the heck out of him. He really was more like their cat. No, he was Tina's cat which was odd since Ek was out there with him now. Ek did like to come out at random times. And apparently liked people as well.
"Honestly, he has never been around anyone much for me to know."
